Disproportionately large breasts cause back pain and shoulder pain, as well as may cause other health problems. The breast reduction is performed to get rid of physical discomfort and improve self-consciousness, because the surgery improves the shape of your breast.
Before the surgery
You should have a blood test and certain examinations – breast ultrasound or mammography, when needed.
Process of the surgery
Excess tissues and skin are removed, the nipple is transposed (incl., the areola is reduced or transposed, if needed) and the shape of the breast is improved. The surgery lasts about 2-3 hours and is performed under general anaesthesia.
You should stay in the hospital for 1-2 days. The period requiring to be careful is 1-2 weeks. You can have a shower on day 4 after the surgery, but you should not swim or have a bath, or start physical activity faster than 3-4 weeks after the surgery.
Long-term, however, the result of the surgery can be affected by fluctuations in body weight, pregnancy, breastfeeding, as well as natural ageing.
Please send your inquiry to our patient coordinator Elina Stupane: ph.+371- 26530660 (only in working hours),
Please note that all the pre-surgery exams can be done in our hospital.
